Master's Degree

Applicants to Master's programs are required to submit the following documents:

1. Valid Passport – Copy of a valid passport.
2. Academic Qualifications – A certified copy of the Bachelor's Degree Certificate and Bachelor's Academic Transcript.
3. Personal Photograph – Recent passport-size color photograph.
4. Emirates ID – Copy of a valid UAE National Identity Card (Emirates ID).
5. UAE National Family Book – Copy of the UAE National Family Book, where applicable.
6. Application Fee – AED 500 (non-refundable).
7. English Language Proficiency – Applicants must provide one of the following:
   • A valid IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic certificate; or
   • Official proof that their Bachelor's degree was taught in English.
8. Academic Recommendation Letters – Two recommendation letters from professors who taught or supervised the applicant during their Bachelor's degree studies.
9. UoS Alumni Card – Required for University of Sharjah graduates, where applicable.

Qualifications Obtained Outside the UAE

Applicants who obtained their Bachelor's degree from an institution outside the United Arab Emirates are required to obtain the necessary certificate recognition/equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR).

Additional Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer applicants are required to submit the following additional documents:

1. Official Academic Transcript – Certified copy of the official academic transcript from the previous institution.
2. Course Descriptions – Detailed course descriptions certified by the previous university.

Transfer from an Institution Outside the UAE

Applicants transferring from an institution outside the United Arab Emirates shall have their qualifications recognized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR).

Additional Supporting Documents

Where applicable, applicants shall also submit the following supporting documents:

1. National and Reserve Service No Objection Certificate – A valid No Objection Certificate issued by the relevant National and Reserve Service authority for male Emirati applicants.
2. Kuwait Embassy Cultural Office Approval – A letter of study approval issued by the Kuwait Embassy Cultural Office for Kuwaiti applicants.
3. People of Determination Card – A copy of the applicant's People of Determination Card, where applicable.
4. Employment Letter – Applicants who are currently employed are required to submit a letter from their employer confirming their current employment.
5. UoS Employee Consent Form – University of Sharjah employees are required to submit the relevant consent form issued by Human Resources.

The University of Sharjah offers Research Assistant (RA) and Teaching Assistant (TA) scholarships to eligible Master's students, subject to the University's applicable bylaws, regulations, and available opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a Research Assistant or Teaching Assistant Scholarship, Master's students must meet the following requirements:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.20 out of 4.00 (or equivalent) for UAE national students, and 3.60 out of 4.00 (or equivalent) for non-national students.
• Be committed to working 20 hours per week at the University as part of the scholarship requirements.
• Not be employed outside the University during the scholarship period.
• Meet any additional requirements established by the concerned academic department and the University.

The concerned academic department reserves the right to select eligible candidates based on its academic and research needs and the applicable selection criteria.

Important Conditions

• Scholarship eligibility and continuation are subject to the bylaws and regulations of the University of Sharjah.
• Remedial courses are not covered by the scholarship.
• Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee the award of a scholarship. Selection is subject to departmental evaluation, availability, and approval.

Programs Not Eligible for RA/TA Scholarships

Students enrolled in the following programs are not eligible to apply for Research Assistant or Teaching Assistant scholarships:

Research Assistant Scholarship Only

Students enrolled in the following program may apply for a Research Assistant (RA) Scholarship only and are not eligible for a Teaching Assistant (TA) Scholarship:

– Master of Science in Molecular Medicine and Translational Research

External Scholarships

Master's students may also be eligible for scholarships offered by external sponsoring entities.

Scholarship Notes

• Students must submit their scholarship applications directly to the sponsoring entity during the specified application period.
• Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all eligibility requirements, conditions, and deadlines established by the sponsoring entity.
• Scholarship requirements, application periods, benefits, and other conditions are determined by the sponsoring entity and may be subject to change.
