Master of Leadership in Health Professions Education (MSc LHPE) Induction Program
The University of Sharjah’s Master of Leadership in Health Professions Education (MSc LHPE) program successfully conducted its induction program for Year 1 students on August 31 and September 1, 2024.
A total of 17 students participated in the in-person induction, while several others joined virtually via Zoom. The program featured esteemed faculty from the University of Sharjah’s Medical and Health Sciences colleges, who welcomed the new cohort and emphasized the significance of the MSc LHPE program.
Professor Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College of Medicine, highlighted the program’s decade-long history at the university and its crucial role in advancing healthcare education leadership. Professor Eman Abu-Gharbieh, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, and His Excellency Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah and Chair of the MSc LHPE Council, also addressed the students, sharing their insights and expectations.
Dr. Mohamed H. Taha, Director of the Medical Education Center and Program Coordinator for MSc LHPE, moderated and led the induction program. Key sessions included:
- Overview of the Study and Learning in the Program: Dr. Taha discussed the flipped classroom approach, pre-module preparation, discussion forums, assessment overview, and academic integrity.
- Introduction to UoS Library Learning Resources, APA References Styles, and Digital Reference Management: Mrs. Nadia and Mr. Anas conducted a workshop on these topics.
- Academic writing workshops: Dr. Taha led workshops on academic writing, searching databases, assignment preparation, and writing.
The induction program provided the new students with valuable insights into the MSc LHPE curriculum and equipped them with essential skills for their academic journey.
