Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Adult Learners: Enhancing Educators’ Knowledge, Attitudes, and Inclusive Practices
The Medical Education Center, in collaboration with the Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties, successfully hosted an informative session on "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Adult Students". The event featured renowned speakers Iman Elarabi, Psychologist, Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties and Moataz Ahmed, Special Education Specialist, Academic Services Unit, Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties, moderated by Rand Al Taie (PG Cert in ADHD, Middlesex University, UK).
The session aimed to enhance educators' understanding of ADHD by addressing its neurodevelopmental basis, dispelling misconceptions, and promoting positive attitudes. Key topics included recognizing diverse learning patterns, implementing inclusive teaching strategies, and highlighting the importance of counseling and behavioral support for students’ mental well-being.
This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment for all students, ensuring they receive the necessary resources to thrive academically and personally.
