11th Health Professions Education Publication Forum
The Medical Education Center successfully conducted the 11th Health Professions Education Publication Forum (HPEPF) titled “Advancing Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice”, led by Professor Salman Yousuf Guraya, Professor of Surgery, Chair of the Interprofessional Education Committee, Director of Surgical Courses at RCS England, and Regional Director of the Medical Professionalism Network at RCSI Ireland.
Prof. Guraya presented an insightful session emphasizing the importance of interprofessional education (IPE) in preparing health professionals for effective collaborative practice. He shared global best practices, implementation strategies, and outcomes of IPE in enhancing teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care.
The session was moderated by Dr. Wiam Elshami, Associate Professor, College of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Diagnostic Imaging, who steered an engaging discussion on integrating IPE into health professions curricula to foster a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.
