Language Institute Organizes Orientation Program for the Intensive English Program
The Language Institute at the University of Sharjah organized an orientation program for the Intensive English Programstudents to support their transition into university life and familiarize them with essential academic services, policies, and resources.The orientation was delivered by Dr.Asmaa Awad, Director of the Language Institute; Amira Traish, Assistant Director; and Shabnam Fatima, Program Coordinator. Students were introduced to the Institute’s academic and administrative teams and key university resources, including the academic calendar, campus map, university website, and official email system.The program also covered placement and admission criteria, attendance and grading policies, academic and IT support, professional email communication, student activities, employability skills workshops, and responsible use of social media.The session concluded with an interactive discussion in which students were encouraged to ask questions, participate in university activities, and make full use of the academic and support services available to them.
The Language Institute wished all students a successful academic year and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting them throughout their university experience.
