Overview
The Space Sciences Department at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) is dedicated to advancing theoretical and applied research in astronomy and space sciences. Our mission is to expand scientific knowledge through publications, pioneer innovative space technologies, train the next generation of researchers, scientists, and engineers, and represent SAASST on the international stage. The department is home to several specialized labs, including the CubeSat Laboratory for satellite development, the Meteorite Center for meteor and meteorite research, the High Energy Astrophysics Laboratory for exploring the high-energy universe with space-based telescopes, the Space Artificial Intelligence Laboratory for AI-driven advancements, and the Space Weather & Ionosphere Laboratory for studying ionospheric and space weather phenomena and their technological impacts.
