- Human Genetics and Regenerative Medicine: Leverage genetic research and stem cell technology to develop therapeutic solutions and advance our understanding of genetic diseases, focusing on monogenetic disorders and stem cell differentiation into various lineages for medical applications.
- Environmental and Biodiversity Preservation: Explore and enhance desert ecosystem biodiversity, native plant conservation, and combat desertification through genetic, chemical, and biological insights, supporting sustainable resource use and ecological protection.
- Genomic and Bioinformatics Advancements: Develop cutting-edge bioinformatics algorithms and tools to decode complex human diseases through multi-OMICs technologies, aiming to establish early diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers and provide novel solutions for environmental and health challenges.
- Chemical Innovations for Sustainability: Pioneering in electrochemical sensing and energy storage solutions using advanced materials like nanomaterials for environmental monitoring and energy-efficient technologies.
Objectives

- Conduct both basic and applied research to pioneer advancements in genetic modifications, environmental biotechnology, and computational systems.
- Develop innovative biotechnological solutions and products that can be commercialized or implemented in various sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and environmental management.

- Publish research findings in prestigious international journals and present breakthroughs at leading global conferences to advance the scientific community’s understanding and application of biotechnology.
- Regularly participate in workshops, symposiums, and seminars to share knowledge and discuss future directions in biotechnological research.

- Develop and offer community-oriented programs, workshops, and training sessions to disseminate knowledge and demonstrate practical applications of biotechnology.

These objectives are designed to ensure the Advanced Biotechnology Center (ABC) not only advances scientific research but also contributes effectively to societal needs, regional goals, and global challenges.

Approach
- Work in an integrative and multi-disciplinary setting to uncover the causes, patterns, and treatment responses associated with various diseases.
- Identify novel molecular targets of various diseases.
- Translate the research findings into innovative diagnostic tools and treatment approaches.
- Employ AI to interpret, understand, and inter-relate OMICS data for development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
- Contribute to technology development in computational genomics.
Researchers of CEPM works in an integrative and multi-disciplinary setting to uncover many questions revolving around the causes, patterns, and treatment responses associated with various diseases including cancer, diabetes, asthma among others. They employ AI to define and understand the functions of gene products involved in various diseases. Ultimately, translate the research findings into diagnosis and treatment. Finally, the center investigators utilize state-of-the-art approaches in all phases of their work to develop AI-based innovations in all fields of human health and biology. Additionally, the investigators contribute to technology development in computational genomics of both human and microorganisms.
