The Women in Research Office (WIRO) at the University of Sharjah is a dedicated institutional platform committed to empowering women in research, innovation, and leadership. Established under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, WIRO represents the evolution of the University’s internationally recognized Women in Research initiative from a successful forum into a sustainable office that drives collaboration, mentorship, capacity building, and meaningful impact. Through a strong network of researchers, academic institutions, industry leaders, and strategic partners, WIRO aims to advance women’s contributions to science and innovation locally, regionally, and globally.

Building on a five-year journey that expanded from the University of Sharjah to a regional and international platform, WIRO serves as a hub for connecting women researchers, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, inspiring future generations, and creating opportunities for professional growth and research excellence. With the support of its global advisory network and diverse community of partners, WIRO continues to strengthen the role of women in shaping the future of research and innovation.
