SSCCR Local Strategic Meetings and Collaborative Engagements from Jun to Dec 25

The Sharjah Smart Center for Climate Resilience (SSCCR) actively engages with local partners to support collaborative research, data sharing, and integrated climate and disaster resilience initiatives.

From 25 June to 25 December, the SSCCR at the University of Sharjah held several meetings with the following institutions to explore collaboration opportunities. 

  • Sharjah Municipality

Challenges faced by Sharjah Municipality were discussed, with seeking collaboration opportunities with SSCCR.

    • Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) – GIS Department

    A meeting was held with Dr. Saeed Al Mansoori to discuss high-accuracy maps for Sharjah, and he expressed interest in collaboration.

    • Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI)

    Meeting with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (Dr. Ahmed Al Masri and his team) to discuss possible collaboration.

    • Department of Mass Communication – University of Sharjah

    A kickoff meeting launched a collaborative media toolkit project between the Sharjah Smart Center for Climate Resilience (SSCCR) and Dr. Syed Ali from the Department of Mass Communication defining milestones and publication opportunities.

    • The first physical meeting with SSCCR Internal Team

    The team discussed integrating all research directions into one comprehensive project to optimize resources and budgets.

    • Fujairah Research Center (FRC)

    The meeting, held at the OpenUAE lab, focused on project collaboration and data sharing.

    • National Center for Meteorology (NCM)

    The next steps for collaboration on projects and research were discussed during the meeting.
