With the Aim of Highlighting the Impact of Digital Tools on Architecture: The College of Engineering organizes a "Digital Developments Exhibition" for its Students

The Department of Architectural Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Sharjah organized a "Digital Developments Exhibition" for its students as part of the course digital design (digital architecture). This with the aim of showing the effect of digital tools on the methods of engineers and architects, from idea and design to manufacturing and digital implementation. This in the presence of Prof. Ahmed El-Shamaa, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Prof. Abbas Al-Moallem, Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering, and Dr. Aref Maqsood, instructor of Digital Architecture and exhibition organizer, as well as faculty and staff members and students from the Department.

During the Exhibition, students presented 40 digital architectural works and 30 digital processing designs simulating reality as students focused on the role of advanced applications for computer aided design in the field of architecture, planning and post-design, including the experience of manufacturing and digital implementation using sustainable materials, and the use of modern machines such as 3D printers and laser cutting machines and robots. They also focused on the importance of awareness of the manufacturing process and advance digital design that may affect the project in general. The exhibition was divided into two parts: the first of which is the advanced digital architectural designs for a group of digital designs of skyscrapers and bridges supported by digitally processed image simulations of reality by selecting materials and shapes that respond to functions and conditions, attached to 3D printed forms emphasizing students' use of strong flexibility in digital design to apply their studies on skyscrapers as well as bridges from the reality of their imagination as to their condition in the future. Second: future obsession in implementation and digital industrialization where students presented a set of basic pieces such as sitting areas, seats and tables designed using digital architecture and implemented in real scale by students with the latest programs, devices and digital equipment.

The Exhibition concluded with a speech in which the Dean of the College and the Head of the Department of Architecture praised the success of the students of providing high-quality outputs using modern tools and technical means.
