SHARJAH Under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department (MSR) organised the "12th Open Day" activities at the University of Sharjah, with the aim of attracting high school students from public and private schools, and parents, and introducing them to the university's academic programmes, and scientific disciplines across its various colleges. Besides clarifying admission requirements, and the UOS online application process, presenting study plans and job opportunities available in all majors.

Participants at this event included all university colleges, departments, and centres to introduce services available to students. The Chancellor of the University of Sharjah stated during his tour of the Open Day, this event is considereda focal point between school students, their parents, and the university to present experiences, and educational possibilitiesto secondary school students, asserting that the university aims to attract highly qualified and distinguished students, to promote their cognitive and scientific orientation, through its colleges and new academic programmes that are compatible with the requirements of the labour market.

He also pointed that the university focuses on all aspects that serve students' needs and refine their personality, through extracurricular activities conducted besides teaching, learning and scientific research. The Chancellor also indicated that the university is in the process of offering several new academic programmes for Bachelor's and Masters degrees.

From her side, Dr. Nadia Farhat, Director of the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department, stated that the Open Day attracted more than 2,500 male and female student from 25 public and private schools, as well as a number of parents, hosted by colleges through pavilions designated to present their services and answer all enquiries raised. School students and faculty members praised the remarkable organisation of the Open Day, pointing that it is a great opportunity to map out their universitystudy journey across multiple scientific disciplines and educational fields at the university, stating that it suits their inclinations and future aspirations, as UOS is always keen to provide all services and activities to its students, in accordance with high quality standards of teaching and learning. It is one of the most prestigious and distinguished universities at the national level.
