Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, opened the 14th Annual Scientific Research Forum (SRF) of the University of Sharjah, held under the theme "Innovative Research with Societal Impact", at Al-Razi Hall in the Medical and Health Colleges Complex. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the Universityof Sharjah, delivered a speech thanking Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi forattending the forum, and he also reviewed the advanced positions that the University of Sharjah has achieved in a number of scientific fields, such as sustainable development and commitment to clean environmental standards, in addition to scientific and academic excellence and the prestigious positions of faculty members in the field of international scientific research. He said that this year's forum features 10 scientific projects f rom diverse university research groups, 7 research projects by undergraduate students, and 8 projects by graduate students. Dr. Muammar Beltayeb, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sharjah for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, addressed the significant advancement in scientific research infrastructure at the University of Sharjah , which provides an appealing research climate for researchers and graduate students.

There are more than 40 labs for different subjects, 66 research groups, and 8 research centres at the university. The CEO of Yukon Venture at the University of Connecticut in the United States was the keynote speaker at the opening of the forum. In his speech, he talked about how important scientific research and innovation are in academic institutions. He also praised the University of Sharjah's effortsand experience in scientific research and innovation and encouraged students.

At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, Sheikh Sultan honoured the faculty members who received annual incentive awards in the fields of scientific research, teaching, and special accolades for contributing to the university's service in a variety of sectors. He also gave professors and students the Sharjah Islamic bank Awards for Scientific Research. Recently, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi affirmed that under the generous patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and founder of the University of Sharjah, the University was still keen to remain in the forefront.

This came during his speech, on Saturday, at the Alumni Association ceremony of the University of Sharjah, which was held at Al Jawaher reception and convention centre. In his speech, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed welcomed the attendees, saying, "We welcome you to this first meeting with graduates of the Universityof Sharjah, this distinguished university founded by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and we are proud of its distinguished graduates in all fields."

The President of University of Sharjah added, stressing the keenness to take care of university students, saying "a while ago I listened to a meeting with the heads of scientific and cultural clubs and student councils, and told them that we are doing our best to keep your university in advanced positions always, even if it was time to graduate, you said to everyone, 'We are graduates from University of Sharjah and we are proud.'

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed announced the scientific development and high position of the university, which is preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding, and stressed that the University of Sharjah at the end of the academic year will celebrate its silver jubilee, and will be declared among the 100 most powerful young universities in the world, according to the classification of the TimesOrganization International University Assessment. The University of Sharjah is also the first at the state level in the fields of sustainable development, and at the (119) in the world, and it is the first at the state level in medicine, health sciences, computing and informatics sciences, physics, s pace sc iences and astronomy, and the second in engineering and technology, and it ranges between (250) ) and (300) globally in these disciplines, and the first in the country in sober scientific research, according to the data of Scopus International.
