To Support the Emiratization Initiative The University of Sharjah is Launching the Emirati Future Leaders Initiative

Inspired by the words of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah: the importance of building the human precedes constructing cultural facilities, as with the human knowledge nations and civilizations rise and Earth is vitalized. And in support of the national Emiratization initiative and in support of the University of Sharjah path of supporting the human resources of Emirati students to qualify them academically. The Institute of Leadership in Higher Education at the University of Sharjah launches the "Future Emirati Leaders Initiative at the University of Sharjah." His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, announced this adding that it is a program to prepare distinguished Emirati students in the third academic year, who are about to graduate. It targets English speaking students who think creatively, have distinguished leadership skills, and are keen to contribute positively to society.

He pointed out that the program lasts for six months, during which students go through a group educational experience to develop their leadership and cognitive skills. The focus of the program will be attracting specialists who have experience in communicating the idea of self-awareness, creating plans for students' personal development, and providing them with support before and after the conclusion of the program.

The Chancellor explained that the University of Sharjah, during its recent five-year strategic plan annual meeting, confirmed the launch of a set of programs to enhance knowledge and specialized professional skills for young UAE people. This to prepare them to assume leadership roles in the country in the future, as this was included in the objectives of the five-year strategic plan of the University of Sharjah.

Prof. Sherif Sedky, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, explained that this program aims to support the Emiratization policy, and it will provide outstanding students with training and counseling opportunities to develop the skills they need for the labor market. This program will launch this February with the first batch of students at the University Sharjah.

For his part, Prof. Maher Omar, Director of the Institute of the Leadership in Higher Education, shared that the institute will work in cooperation with the relevant authorities and institutions to provide all the needs of the program to ensure its effectiveness and success. He stressed that there will be periodic evaluation processes for this program to achieve compatibility between societal needs and developing cognitive skills in the program.
