To Develop the Capabilities of Students of Law, Sharia, and Islamic Studies: MoU Between the University of Sharjah and the Ministry of Justice Represented by the Sharjah Federal Sharia Court
The University of Sharjah and the Ministry of Justice represented by the Sharjah Federal Sharia Court signed a memorandum of understanding. His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, signed the MoU with His Excellency Salem Ali Al Hosani, President of the Sharjah Federal Sharia Court. The memorandum aims to support developing the capabilities of students in the Colleges of Law and Sharia and Islamic Studies with practical training. It also works to enhance the colleges' programs by integrating theoretical aspects with practical training.
The Chancellor of the University of Sharjah welcomed the attendees and expressed his happiness at signing the MoU with the Ministry of Justice represented by the Sharjah Federal Sharia Court. He confirmed that the University of Sharjah is progressing steadily towards strengthening its position among the prestigious universities at the regional and international levels according to the latest international classifications. This is, he added, thanks to the directives, support, and continuous attention of its President His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The Chancellor confirmed that this MoU comes within the framework of the University's keenness to support theoretical courses through practical training. As well as informing students of the latest legal and Sharia amendments along with modern and emerging jurisprudential opinions in the legal and Sharia field.
His Excellency Judge Salem Ali Matar Al Hosani stated that the MoU comes in the context of the Ministry's keenness to achieve its the strategic objectives and extend bridges of cooperation with all leading academic institutions and entities. He noted that cooperation with the University of Sharjah opens new horizons for cooperation to achieve their common goals.
This memorandum stipulates that the two parties must present the best practices that serve the community in the legal field. This through the exchange of scientific and research experiences in accordance with an advanced and effective institutional system to serve all segments of society. The two parties will also cooperate in attending conferences and seminars related to legal affairs and submitting working research papers.
The two parties will work to develop the capabilities of students at the Colleges of Law and Sharia and Islamic Studies at the University, or learners interested in legal or Sharia sciences. This to enhance the programs of these two colleges by integrating theoretical aspects with existing practical training and practical training for students within the credit hours for each student and in accordance with the approved regulations and legislation of the UAE.
The Sharjah Federal Sharia Court will also work to provide the University with updated legal and Sharia amendments and recent and emerging jurisprudential opinions in the legal and Sharia field through publications issued by the Court or published on its website.
