Within the framework of the precautionary measures taken by the University of Sharjah to counter the COVID-19 pandemic, and with an outlook to achieve the maximum preventive safety conditions, the Central Laboratories Department at the University of Sharjah has taken a series of measures to ensure that it continues to perform its tasks remotely effectively. This is by recording all scientific experiments with video technology and display them to students according to the pre-approved quarterly schedules, in addition to converting many laboratory experiments into virtual practical experiences through interactive simulation methods. In pursuit of this, the course teacher uses various softwares to virtually do the experiment and explain its details to students. The experiments are reviewed and modified to ensure the quality of educational outcomes. The Department is also participating in the video library for scientific experiments "JOVE" to provide different sources of education for students and researchers, and to be able to watch the advanced experiences details rather than read it.

Mr. Mahmoud Abu Shammeh, Director of the Central Laboratories Department, stressed the Department's continued provision of services for the students and researchers to complete their research projects that they must work on in the laboratories following specific safety controls. Their presence in the laboratories is through prior attendance schedules approved by the Laboratory Department and under the direct supervision of their professors. He also pointed to ensuring that all the central systems of the laboratories are operating without malfunctions, in addition to providing technical assistance for those present in the laboratories in the event of any emergency order. This is through the presence of a maintenance unit cadre that applies all precautionary means, but for daily transactions, the Department performs all its duties remotely with the various other departments within the University.

He pointed to the Department's attention to provide technical support to all colleges with regards to purchase orders through coordinating with the Procurement Department, as well as coordinating with those involved in colleges and research centers regarding technical evaluation of the offers submitted and communicate with them when needed through the approved technical means. This is to ensure completing all duties remotely with the various departments.
