During the new faculty members' orientation meeting, His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, relayed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah. The Institute for Leadership in Higher Education at the University organized this meeting remotely.

The Chancellor welcomed the new faculty members in his opening speech and stressed that the University of Sharjah – due to the unlimited support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah – is advancing steadily. It now occupies a prestigious standing among other universities at the local, regional, and international levels according to the latest international rankings.

The Chancellor affirmed that the University has great confidence in the experiences of its current and new faculty members and what they will provide to its educational system. He added that the University's achievements in the fields of program development, student education, scientific research, sustainability, and advancement in international rankings came as a result of the hard work and dedication of faculty members. He expressed his hope that the new faculty members will join in these efforts so that the University continues its progression to the highest ranks in the world.

The Chancellor also emphasized that the student at the University of Sharjah is the focus of the educational process, and that the University – during its current five-year strategic plan – keeps pace with the developments taking place on the world level in terms of labor market needs. It is keen to change traditional and adopt the latest teaching methods based on advanced technology and reduce the gap between the student and the professor. This while ensuring the participation of students in the scientific research at the University.
