The College of Health Sciences Discusses the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Shaping the Future of Medical Radiography
The Department of Medical Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Sharjah's College of Health Sciences organized a webinar entitled "Artificial Intelligence and its Role in Shaping the Future of Medical Radiography". The webinar coincides with the world's celebration of the International Day of Radiology. It aims to examine the latest medical diagnostic imaging technologies and artificial intelligence applications in medicine and disease diagnostics. 153 specialists from 19 countries around the world participated along with current College students and graduates.
During the webinar, Prof. Bashar Issa, Head of the Medical Diagnostic Imaging Department at the College of Health Sciences, and the faculty members Dr. Huseyin Ozan Tekin, Dr. Mohamed Abuzaid, and Dr. Muna Kadhom presented topics that dealt with the impact of artificial intelligence in the field of radiography. Dr. Nasya Papachristodoulou, Senior Consultant Radiologist from Greece, also participated in the webinar with a lecture entitled "Artificial Intelligence Perspectives in Radiology."
At the end of the webinar, Prof. Bashar Issa emphasized the importance of the webinar topic at the present time as radiology is essential to doctors to reach the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment for the patient. He also stressed that the rapid development in the field and the introduction of artificial intelligence helps early diagnosis in various fields of medicine. He expressed his appreciation to the participants and thanked the audience and discussed the future developments of the undergraduate program and the graduate program in the College of Health Sciences.
