SAASST Participates in the International Conference and Exhibition for Sciences in Riyadh
To highlight the efforts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Emirate of Sharjah in astronomy and space sciences, and to present the most prominent findings made by the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology (SAASST) at the University of Sharjah (UOS), the academy has participated in the 5th International Conference and Exhibition for Science (ICES2023) under the theme: Science for a Bright Future which was held at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The conference aimed to promote academic exchange and cooperation in the field of sciences and to highlight the contribution and the role of women in sciences.
During the conference sessions, SAASST researchers and specialists presented a variety of scientific research papers focused on astronomy and space sciences, in which seven research papers were presented by researchers and engineers from Space Sciences Department (Prof. Ilias Fernini, Ms. Noora Al-Ameri, Ms. Aisha Al-Owais, Ms. Maryam al-Qasimi, Ms. Fatima Al-Ketbi, Ms. Maryam Sharif). The Sharjah Optical Observatory (SOO) contributed to four research papers presented by Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Wardat, the researcher Mr. Mohammed Talafha, Mr. Salem Suhail, Mr. Mohammad Musharraf, Mr. Abdullah Hussein and Mr. Ammar Abdullah. In addition to a research paper presented by Ms. Fatima Alkhateri, Scientific Guide, Planetarium Department.
