The Research Outreach Department at the University of Sharjah organized a workshop to introduce a premier cloud native education program. This in cooperation with SUSE, a global leader in innovative, reliable and enterprise-grade open source solutions. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, attended the workshop along with and Dr. Manar Abu Talib, Chair of Research Outreach Department at the University of Sharjah.

The workshop shared information about the technical knowledge and skills learners will acquire in the new Cloud Native Application Architecture Nanodegree program from Udacity, presented by Brendan Bulmer, Program Director, and Ahmed Shawky, the technical team leader for the program in the Middle East from SUSE. Students in this program learn to run and manage scalable applications in a cloud native environment using open source tools. Introducing this self-learning program aims to provide students, and other aspiring technologist's, with an affordable, efficient and practical skills-based training program that enables them to grow into high-paying, in-demand careers in the field of technology.
