International Congress on Personalized Medicine and Targeted Therapies in Cancer (PMTC2013)

The Sharjah Institute for Medical Research is hosting the first international congress on personalized medicine and targeted therapies in cancer at the University of Sharjah (UAE) from January 31 to February 2, 2013.

This conference is organized by the Sharjah Research Academy, the University of Sharjah and Institute Gustave Roussy (cancer research institute, France). It will serve as a strategic venue to bring together cancer medical opinion leaders, clinicians and scientists from the Gulf countries, Europe and USA. The goal is to illuminate innovative developments for future therapeutic approaches by promoting interdisciplinary discussions on latest advances in cancer research, targeted therapies and personalized medicine in cancer.

We are proud to have several high profile speakers who will cover a wide range of exciting topics within the field of cancer, including Stephen Friend (Sage Bionetworks – WA- USA), Alexander Eggermont (IGR- France), Alain Gouyette (Université Paris-Sud -France) and Waun Ki Yong (MD Anderson Cancer Center Houston –USA). Research topics presented will highlight up-to-date progress on ‘Cancer biomarkers’, ‘Aberrant signaling pathways in malignancy’, ‘Novel targeted therapy in cancer’ and ‘Chemotherapy resistance.

PMTC2013 features special sessions in which the speakers will lead small group discussions in their area of interest. Attendees will be able to benefit from this close interaction with world renowned experts in cancer research, thereby establishing a network which can enrich their research and experience.
