The Relationship Between eHealth Literacy and Willingness to Use AI-Powered Health Applications Among University of Sharjah Students
This cross-sectional survey of University of Sharjah students found moderate eHealth literacy levels and high use of general wellness apps, but more limited engagement with clinically oriented digital health tools. Higher eHealth literacy was significantly associated with greater trust in AI-generated health information and a stronger willingness to use AI-powered health applications in the future. Based on these findings, the study recommends that universities strengthen eHealth and AI health literacy education, address privacy concerns, and embed the safe use of digital health tools into student wellbeing initiatives.
