Sustainability practices in UAE nursing and barriers to sustainability practices
This research explores the current state of sustainability practices within nursing in the UAE, focusing on environmental responsibility, resource efficiency, and green healthcare initiatives. It also investigates barriers that hinder the adoption of sustainable practices, including organizational, educational, and cultural challenges. The study underscores the critical role nurses play in promoting environmentally responsible healthcare and highlights the need for policy, leadership, and curriculum support to integrate sustainability into nursing practice. The project aims to contribute to the UAE’s broader sustainability goals while strengthening the nursing profession’s role in advancing eco-friendly healthcare.
