Students perception of barriers and facilitators to mental health help-seeking among peers experiencing mental health issues: A Qualitative study
This study aimed to explore university students’ perceptions of the barriers and facilitators to mental health help-seeking among their peers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Specifically, it sought to gain insights into the cultural, social, and institutional factors that influence help-seeking behaviors. By identifying students’ lived experiences, beliefs, and attitudes toward mental health services, the study aimed to inform the development of targeted interventions, awareness initiatives, and student-centered support systems that can improve access to mental health care and promote psychological well-being within the university setting.
