Perceived Stress and Its Physical Health Outcomes Among Students in the College of Health Sciences
This study examines the relationship between perceived stress and physical health among undergraduate students at the University of Sharjah. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional correlational design, the research analyzed data from 350 students using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and a targeted physical health questionnaire. The study explores stress levels, differences across participant characteristics, and associated symptoms—such as fatigue, headaches, sleep disturbances, appetite changes, and blood pressure fluctuations. The findings demonstrate a significant positive relationship between stress and physical health problems, highlighting the critical need for stress-management programs and health-promotion strategies to improve student well-being and academic performance.
