Peer tutoring in nursing education enhancing UOS student’s performance and success

Peer tutoring is increasingly recognized in nursing education for enhancing academic success, confidence, and professional skills. This qualitative study explored the experiences of 15 undergraduate nursing students (tutors and tutees) at the University of Sharjah through semi-structured interviews and surveys. Content analysis revealed key themes: tutors highlighted teaching enjoyment, challenges, relationship-building, language barriers, and recognition, while tutees emphasized academic gains, emotional resilience, and the need for support. Peer tutoring improved performance, confidence, and inclusivity, fostering supportive learning. Findings underscore the importance of structured programs with training and recognition to ensure sustainability and address diverse student needs.
