CND Graduates Win Community Award at Khalifa University Symposium
Supervised by Dr. Mona Hashim from the Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (CND) department, graduates from the CND Department at the University of Sharjah were honored with a Community Impact Award at the Khalifa University Symposium for their outstanding contribution to public health awareness. As part of the 3rd Healthy Longevity Symposium held at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, the graduates presented a research poster titled “A study of the relationship between adherence to the MIND diet and neurocognitive status among older adults in Sharjah – cross-sectional.” Their project examined how adherence to the MIND dietary pattern relates to cognitive performance in aging populations. The study emphasized the importance of nutrition in promoting healthy longevity, and their work was commended for its scientific rigor, relevance to community health, and meaningful contribution to advancing research on cognitive well-being among older adults.
