Visual Manifestos Highlights the Power of Type in Reflecting Identity

CFAD continues to promote international collaboration with sister institutions through online workshops that promote sustainability in design. Dr. Iman Ibrahim (Associate Professor of Interior Design) introduces interior design students in her course “Sustainable Design for Interiors” to integrative concepts in sustainability and parametric design in interiors. This is supported by a series of three online workshops presented by faculty from Galala University, Egypt. The first workshop “LEED Rating System—Challenges in Practice”, presented by Architect-Engineer Ehab Maher (Green Associate at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)), addressed real-world challenges and opportunities in implementing LEED certification standards. The second workshop “Biophilic Design—Innovative Applications”, led by Architect-Engineer Zainab Tahoon (Lecturer and Researcher at Galala University), introduced strategies for integrating natural elements, forms, and materials into architectural design, enhancing well-being, environmental performance, and sensory experiences in built spaces. The third and final workshop “Parametric Design Inspirations”, delivered by Dr. Hussein Essam (Associate Professor at Galala University), explored how computational design tools and algorithmic thinking reshape architecture, from digital modeling to generative design processes.
