The University of Sharjah’s Student Affairs Deanship (Men) organized the 2025 UNESCO Art Camp that included 20 artists from around the world. This year’s UNESCO Guest of Honor was British artist Sacha Jafri who engaged CFAD students in a large painting. The outcome of the camp was an extensive art exhibit hosted at CFAD’s Rewaq Gallery. In conjunction with the event, Fine Arts Assistant Professors Dr. Karima Alshomely and Dr. Thomas Stollar took advantage of the ten-day camp to collaborate on a project that brought together thirteen students from year one and year three representing eight nationalities. Dr. Stollar noted that “Students were tasked to create a collaborative, modular, artwork, that would run parallel to the UNESCO Art Camp Exhibition. Like the UNESCO artists, our students were asked to express their individual heritage, interests, and experiences.” This was a unique opportunity for students to showcase their work to our guests.
