Seniors Present at an International Conference
Three interior design students proudly presented their senior research findings at the 2nd International conference on Inspiration and Innovation Design Trends IIDT 2025, Bahrain. Aljaze Ali Alkarbi’s project for the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired (EAVI) aims to transform how visually impaired individuals interact with their surroundings, focusing on creating a functional yet emotionally engaging space. While Lamya Saeed Alsuwaidi’s redesign for Sharjah’s Courthouse’s Support Section takes inspiration from the strength and resilience of the Mangrove tree in maintaining environmental balance —mirroring the Courthouse's role in fostering societal harmony and ensuring rights. Finaly Salama Ali Karam’s redesign for the Women’s Association in Sharjah is inspired by the pearl shell, which symbolizes strength, protection, and beauty reflecting the potential for women to shine and develop, much like the hidden pearl inside the shell. All students are supervised by Ms. Nadia Albadri (Lecturer in Interior Design). An exhibit of students’ projects from the course “Sustainability in Interiors” led by Dr. Iman Ibrahim (Associate Professor of Interior Design) was also included in conference. Both faculty also presented their own research at the conference.
Well-done Interior Design Team!
