A Scientific Symposium: Artificial Intelligence and its Role in Enhancing Social Services in the UAE Community
The Cultural and Symposiums Committee of the Department of Sociology, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, organized the department's second symposium titled "Artificial Intelligence and Enhancing Social Services in the UAE Community" today, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 2:30 PM in Al-Farabi Hall. The symposium was presented by Dr. Iman Al-Naqbi, Assistant Professor of Sociology in the department, and the session was chaired by Dr. Omaima Abu Khair, Associate Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Cultural and symposiums Committee. Dr. Iman discussed the concept of artificial intelligence, its importance in various fields, its role in enhancing social services in the UAE community, and the risks and challenges it poses and how to address and overcome them. The symposium was attended by several faculty members from the department and the university, as well as our students from the University of Sharjah. The discussion was lively, with many questions and contributions from the esteemed audience, enriching the dialogue and discussion.
