Dr. Badeeah Al-Hashimi Wins the Emirati Article Award – First Edition, Literary Essay Category
In a new literary and cultural achievement, Dr. Badeeah Khalil Al-Hashimi was awarded the Emirati Article Award in its inaugural edition for the year 2025, in the literary essay category, for her distinguished article titled: "The Identity of Human and Place in Emirati Novels."
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Dubai Press Club, attended by a group of writers, intellectuals, and media professionals. The award’s Board of Trustees praised the article’s intellectual depth and linguistic excellence, highlighting its exploration of the reciprocal relationship between human and place in Emirati narrative fiction, and how this relationship contributes to shaping cultural and national identity.
This recognition came as part of the first edition of the award launched by the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, which aims to encourage essay writing and enhance the presence of Emirati writers in both local and global cultural spheres. The award’s first edition saw wide participation, with over 100 submissions, and a notable dominance of Emirati women among the winners.
This award marks a significant milestone in Dr. Al-Hashimi’s academic and creative journey, reaffirming her commitment to shedding light on cultural issues and national identity through scholarly research and literary analysis.
