University of Sharjah's Participation in the Cultural Café at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025

Upon assignment from the Deanship of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Alaa Al Taee, Associate Professor at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, participated in the Cultural Café of the Sharjah Consultative Council as part of the 44th International Book Fair activities. She presented a scientific paper titled: (Our Children Are a Trust – Investing in the Partnership Between Family and Education to Enhance Intellectual Security in the UAE Society).

She was joined in the discussion panel at the Cultural Café by members of the Consultative Council. In her presentation, Dr. Alaa Al Taee affirmed that the family's role in building values and shaping awareness is based on the partnership between the family and educational institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah. She highlighted that this model represents an advanced sociological framework that embodies Educational Governance founded on participation, not centralization, and awareness, not dictation.

The Emirate of Sharjah has adopted this perspective in its family policy by shifting from traditional value control to interactive value control, which includes embedding the values of self-monitoring, ethical choice, and digital citizenship.
