Collaboration with Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority (SEWA) on a funded project: Hydrogen Generation Plant – Green Hydrogen from Seawater
Dr. Tanveer Ul Haq is a leading researcher in green hydrogen and seawater electrolysis technologies. He led a funded collaboration with SEWA on building a Hydrogen Generation Plant – Green Hydrogen from Seawater, working with industry partners to scale corrosion-resistant electrode designs from lab to industrial electrolyzer applications.
He received the Sharjah Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research (2024), the ACS Energy and Fuels Division Contribution to Science Award (2021), and the Research Proposal Award at the 5th Women in Research Forum (2025).
His research on multilayer electrode design for seawater electrolysis (Small, 2025) gained global recognition, featured in 11 international news outlets and ranked in the top 5% worldwide on Altmetric "97th to 98th percentile".
Dr. Haq has published 40+ high-impact research articles, co-authored a Springer Nature book on electrochemical water splitting, and secured over AED 3 million in research funding as PI/Co-PI for green hydrogen projects.
