Granite Veins Sampling and Characterization in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates
This study presents an integrated mineralogical, geochemical, and petrographic investigation of granitic veins exposed in the Fujairah region, United Arab Emirates, within the northern Semail ophiolite. Sixteen samples were analyzed using XRF, XRD, and thin-section petrography. The veins are predominantly felsic, comprising quartz and plagioclase with subordinate mafic minerals. Geochemical and petrographic evidence indicates strong melt–rock interaction, reactive melt transport, and progressive melt infiltration during ophiolite emplacement in a supra-subduction zone setting.
