DAPA Faculty Member Records Educational Radio Series on Astronomy and Islamic Calendar Topics

 Mr. Omar Adwan, a faculty member in the Department of Applied Physics and Astronomy (DAPA), was invited as a guest on Sharjah Radio on March 12, 2026, to record a series of four educational radio episodes. The episodes addressed a range of astronomy-related topics, including “The Difference Between Astronomical Calculations and Crescent Moon Sighting,” “The Motion of the Moon in Determining the Hijri Months,” “Who Among You Has Seen the Sky?” and “The Relationship Between Ancestors and the Stars.” Through these episodes, Mr. Adwan contributed to promoting public understanding of astronomy and its connection to cultural, historical, and religious traditions, while fostering greater scientific awareness within the community.
