DAPA Student Wins Best Innovator Award at YASRI 2026
Mr. Nabeel Jassim, a student from the Department of Applied Physics and Astronomy (DAPA), has been awarded the Best Innovator Award (Implementation Category) at the Youth Award for Scientific Research and Innovation (YASRI 2026), organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies. This recognition was granted for his project titled “One Bag, One Lab: A Portable 3D-Printed Spectroscopy Platform for Democratizing Scientific Research,” which focuses on developing a low-cost, modular optical spectroscopy system aimed at improving access to experimental tools, particularly in resource-limited environments. The award was presented under the Innovation Projects category and sponsored by Huawei, reflecting the department’s strong emphasis on hands-on experimental development and applied research.
