AI and Machine Learning Applications in Geosciences and Engineering workshop
The Petroleum Geosciences and Remote Sensing Program successfully hosted the AI and Machine Learning Applications in Geosciences and Engineering workshop, by Prof. Gerard Schuster, a world-leading scientist in geophysics and artificial intelligence. Faculty members and students were introduced to fundamental and advanced machine learning techniques and their practical applications in geosciences. The workshop covered key concepts such as clustering methods, neural networks, and dimensionality reduction, combined with hands-on training using MATLAB and Google Colab. Participants gained valuable experience in applying AI-driven data analysis tools to real geosciences datasets, strengthening their skills for research, industry applications, and future postgraduate studies.
