Ethics, Responsibility, and Society – AI Awareness Workshop & Film Screening
On 28 January 2026, the Geosciences Student Society organized an engaging event focused on the theme “Ethics, Responsibility, and Society.” The program began with an interactive workshop on AI, ethics, and societal impact, delivered by Ms. Nouf Alteneiji. The session highlighted the ethical considerations in academia, the strengths and limitations of AI systems, and the importance of responsible and ethical AI use in shaping student's futures and society at large. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, along with real examples of ethical and unethical practices. The workshop emphasized raising awareness and encouraging responsible digital behavior among students. Following the workshop, the movie “I, Robot” was screened, prompting further reflection on trust in AI and accountability when machines begin making decisions on behalf of humans. Together, the workshop and film provided an opportunity for students to critically reflect on the ethical and societal implications of AI in today’s world. The event took place outdoors in the M7 yard.
