The University of Sharjah, in collaboration with the Emirates Drug Establishment, will organize an awareness lecture entitled “The Role of Reporting in Enhancing Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety” on November 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Room E1-151.

The lecture is part of a pharmacovigilance awareness campaign held in conjunction with World Patient Safety Week 2026.

The session will be delivered by Dr. Katia Alibouni from the Emirates Drug Establishment and will focus on the importance of pharmacovigilance in promoting medication safety and protecting patients from preventable medication-related harm.
The lecture will highlight the significance of reporting suspected adverse drug reactions and the responsibilities of individuals and health care professionals in identifying and communicating potential medication safety concerns. Participants will also be introduced to the official adverse drug reaction reporting channels provided by the Emirates Drug Establishment and the procedures for using these systems.
The initiative aims to strengthen awareness of medication safety, encourage responsible reporting practices, and promote a culture of pharmacovigilance among students and the wider University community.
