Design and Testing of Atmospheric Water Generator

As water scarcity becomes a bigger problem around the world, especially in dry areas like the UAE, finding new and sustainable ways to produce fresh water is very important. One promising method is Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG), which collects water from the air. In this project, we designed and built an AWG system and tested it at the University of Sharjah. The system works by using condensation to turn water vapor in the air into liquid water. We tested the system in two ways: one with a humidifier to increase the air's moisture and one without it, using only the natural air. We measured how much water the system produced and how much energy it used. The results showed that using a humidifier helped collect more water, proving that higher humidity levels can improve the system’s performance. This project shows that AWG systems can be a useful solution for providing fresh water in hot and dry regions.
