Developing an Electric Vehicle Parking Reservation System and Application: University of Sharjah Case Study
Increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) presents significant challenges in charging infrastructure management. Critical issues include limited charging availability, inefficient resource utilization, and poor user behavior. These challenges are particularly evident in environments with high daily traffic and concentrated demand periods, where charging station management becomes crucial for user satisfaction. Using the University of Sharjah as a case study, this project suggests and evaluates a solution that integrates real-time monitoring, structured reservations, and systematic user management. The proposed system aims to raise charging station availability and optimize utilization while providing a framework for implementation in similar environments. Through the combination of simulation analysis, physical implementation, and mobile application development, this research addresses the growing need for an efficient EV charging reservation and management application.
