Student Field Visit to 3 kW Photovoltaic–Thermal (PV/T) Solar Energy Station
As part of an experiential learning initiative, students participated in a field visit to the 3 kW grid-connected Photovoltaic–Thermal (PV/T) solar energy station. The visit provided hands-on exposure to hybrid solar technology that simultaneously generates electrical and thermal energy, demonstrating advanced renewable energy solutions designed for hot-climate performance. During the visit, students explored the system components, including solar PV modules, thermal heat recovery mechanisms, cooling techniques, monitoring instruments, and grid integration features. Discussions focused on how PV/T technology improves overall energy efficiency by reducing module temperature while recovering useful heat for sustainable applications.
