Developing an Innovative Solution for Traffic Signal Replacement at Maliha Road and Sheikh Khalifa Street in Sharjah

The project focuses on solving severe traffic congestion at the intersection of Maleha Road and Sheikh Khalifa Street in Sharjah. It proposes three alternatives: building an underpass or overpass on
Maleha Road, or an overpass on Sheikh Khalifa Street. Using traffic data from Sharjah RTA, design standards, and simulation tools like ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and PTV Vissim, the alternatives were  analyzed based on traffic delays, speeds, environmental impact, and cost. The study concluded that the Sheikh Khalifa Overpass is the most efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective
solution to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.
