Dr. Ahmed Amine Hachicha Receives Ajman Excellence Award for Groundbreaking Research on Hybrid Solar Chimney
Dr. Ahmed Amine Hachicha, a distinguished researcher from the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Department at the University of Sharjah, has been awarded the prestigious Ajman Excellence Award in the Research category. The award was presented on January 15, 2025, by the Ruler of Ajman, in recognition of Dr. Hachicha’s pioneering research titled "Novel Hybrid Solar Chimney for Air Pollution Mitigation and Clean Electricity Generation."
As global energy demands increase and environmental concerns grow, Dr. Hachicha’s research presents an innovative solution to two pressing challenges: sustainable electricity generation and urban air pollution. His work introduces a novel hybrid solar chimney power plant that purifies outdoor air while simultaneously generating clean electricity. This innovative system combines solar energy with an integrated filter to improve air quality and provide a renewable energy source, marking a significant step forward in both energy sustainability and environmental health.
The Ajman Excellence Award is one of the highest honors given by the government of Ajman, recognizing outstanding contributions in various fields, including research, innovation, and public service. Dr. Hachicha’s award underscores the impact of his research on both the academic community and society at large.
