We are proud to announce that a team of students from the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering (SREE) Department, University of Sharjah; Omar Al Attar, Idriss Taleb, and Ali Ahmed, supervised by Professor Muhammed Tawalbeh, has won First Place in the Sustainable & Renewable Energy category at the 12th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (URIC), hosted by Abu Dhabi University.

Their project, titled "AI-Augmented Solar Driven Direct Contact Membrane Desalination", presents an innovative solution for clean water production by combining solar energy and artificial intelligence to enhance desalination efficiency. This achievement underscores their dedication to impactful research in sustainability and energy innovation.
