Museum Visits for Master's Students in Conservation Management of Cultural Heritage
As part of the "Conservation of Museum Collections" course in the Spring 2024/2025 semester, Eslam Nofal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering organized several museum visits for students in the Master’s Program in Conservation Management of Cultural Heritage. These visits offered students practical exposure to preventive conservation standards in museum environments, enhancing their understanding of conservation practices and collection care. Students visited the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Archaeology Museum, and Qasr Al Hosn. Additionally, students had the opportunity to explore conservation laboratories, including the Manuscripts Laboratory at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and the Louvre Abu Dhabi conservation labs. These experiences allowed students to bridge theory with real-world museum practices, equipping them with valuable insights into conservation techniques and strategies.
