Immunization Policy

Students admitted to the College of Dental Medicine are required to show recent evidence that they are free from major blood-borne viral infections, i.e. Students should test negative to the Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), Hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody, and Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antibody. Additionally, students must complete the vaccination protocol against HBV, which is given as a course of three separate injections. These requirements are in compliance with the college infection prevention and control policies and to ensure the highest standards for public safety at the dental teaching clinics.
