The University of Sharjah has been listed in the 2025 edition of Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, with Dentistry and Oral Sciences placed in the 151 to 200 band worldwide and ranked first in the United Arab Emirates. This makes Sharjah the top national institution in dentistry, ahead of all other universities in the UAE. Shanghai Ranking is an independent academic ranking system based on objective performance indicators, and universities do not apply or submit nominations, which further underlines the strength of this achievement.

 

This international recognition highlights the growing research impact, clinical excellence, and academic innovation at the University of Sharjah and reinforces its position as a leading center for dental education and health sciences in the region.

 

Complementing this international recognition, Scopus data for the College of Dental Medicine show a strong and sustained rise in research output. Peer-reviewed documents increased from 84 in 2022 to 146 in 2024, a 74 percent growth with steady year-on-year gains. This remarkable trajectory reflects the clear vision and support of the university and college leadership, together with the dedication of our faculty, postgraduate students, and interns who are driving high-quality, clinically relevant research.
