The College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) recently welcomed its newly admitted students through an undergraduate orientation designed to introduce them to the College, its academic programs, and the opportunities available throughout their University journey.
The event opened with a warm welcome by the Dean, Prof. Mohamed Adel Serhani, who provided an overview of the College, its departments, and the academic and support services available to help students succeed.

The Heads of Departments—Dr. Naveed Ahmed, Head of the Computer Science Department; Prof. Mohamed Saad, Head of the Computer Engineering Department; and Prof. Huseyin Seker, Head of the Information Systems Department—introduced their respective departments, highlighting their academic programs, study pathways, and opportunities. This was followed by senior students from each department, who shared their experiences and practical advice, giving new students valuable insights into academic and student life.

Dr. Ayad Turky also introduced the academic advising process and emphasized the importance of understanding and following the Study Plan to support students in effectively managing their academic journey.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage with faculty members and seek clarification on their questions.

The event also featured CCI student club booths, where new students learned about extracurricular activities, student organizations, and opportunities to become actively involved in the CCI community.
The orientation provided CCI’s newest students with a welcoming introduction to the College and valuable guidance for a successful start to their academic journey.
