All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. May His blessings and salutations be upon the best of the messengers, his household, his companions in totality and whoever follow their foot step in goodness till the day of resurrection. 

 
The College of Sharia and Islamic Studies is one of the first colleges on which the edifice of the University of Sharjah was built, and it has a lavish scientific and educational message, welding between traditionality and modernity. It provides the students with knowledge and skills in the fields of Sharia and its sub-specializations, which qualifies the students to assume multiple functions and tasks in their communities, such as teaching of Sharia and academic research, judiciary, sermon deliveries in Islamic functions, family counselling, and career in the Islamic banking sector.

Besides, the college's mission goes beyond the purely academic field to the formulation of a balanced personality that interacts with its intellectual and social environment, and is able to absorb the developments of time, in light of what its courses and outputs teach about the values of moderation, the ethics of analysis and evaluation, the elements of belonging to religion and the nation, and the etiquette of maintaining public security.

The college consists of two academic departments: The Department of Foundation of Religion, and the Department of Islamic Jurisprudence and its Foundations (Usul Fiqh). The following academic programs are offered:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Sharia (The Foundation of Religion),
  2. Bachelor's degree in Sharia (Islamic Jurisprudence and Usul Fiqh),
  3. Bachelor's degree in Sharia and Law.
  4. Master's in Tafsir (interpretation) of Quran and Hadith
  5. Master's degree in jurisprudence and Usul Fiqh
  6. Ph. D in Hadith and its sciences.
  7. Ph. D in Tasir and Sciences of the Qur'an.
  8. Ph. D in jurisprudence and Usul Fiqh.
In addition, the college offers compulsory and elective courses for university students, which made it a source of awareness, enlightenment, and enrichment, and a support for the various colleges and their educational strategies.

The college has carried out its mission in the desired manner, with the diligent work of its distinguished faculty members, its effective administrative apparatus, the modern methods of teaching that have been made available to it, and advanced techniques in disseminating the cognitive load, and a library full of original sources and references in every art, as well as the facilitative research atmosphere for teaching staff for scientific publishing, the demonstration of the ability of contributing to international and local conferences, and opportunities for community service within the framework of consultations, public lectures and media participation.
